This Blog Post Will Change Your Life Forever
We've all heard/read these claims: "If you buy this program, follow those 10 easy-to-follow steps, eat that stuff for three weeks, say this magic mantra, your life will not be the same. Your dreams will come true, you'll get your perfect body, you'll manifest your life partner, you'll land that dream job ...".
We all know them, don't we?
Whether you aim to lose weight, improve your relationships, go deeper into self-awareness, or achieve any other personal growth goal, you need to be grounded and realistic with your expectations.
In my experience, treating your expectations as potentials - as opposed to solid end results - can be helpful. The opposite can put you in a state of mind that is exhausted and bitter once that expectation was not realized.
When you have a coaching or training program (or anything else for that matter, remember those hour-long TV commercials?) that promises you life-changing results you may want to take that with a pinch of salt.
Creating meaningful and lasting life changes does not happen by a magic wand, unless you have access to Ollivanders, the wand shop from the Harry Potter series, which most probably you don't; but if you do, I want to be your friend!
So how do I create lasting positive changes in my life, I hear you ask?
But of course you know! The classic step-by-step, day-by-day approach towards your goal.
Approaching your goal with curiosity, as opposed to expectation, can bring about a playful and lighthearted energy that helps you achieve a goal and enjoy the process.
And of course, repeat, repeat, repeat.
The best coach-able people on the planet are children. They are curious, determined, and have no problem repeating a thing as many times as they need to until they finally achieve what they want.
Next, comes people with that child-like approach to life, as well as those who are willing to re-discover that part in themselves.
Now, I'm not saying you don't take your goal and endeavor seriously. But allow lightheartedness of the child to work with the discipline of grown-up to reach your 'destination'.
And finally, remember that you are a unique individual, which means that what works for others may or may not work for you.
In my counselling work, I offer the 'Living Your Human Design Guiding Program', which can be an intensive and different experience run by my client and facilitated by me. Contact me to know more about this program.
Now, listen, let's be honest. Change is not an easy thing. And creating lasting and meaningful changes in different areas in your life can be daunting. You may or may not have that good friend or family member who will empower and support your goals, and hold you accountable. And that is why you resort to coaching.
I would love to work with you to empower you on your journey. And I would love to hear your personal story about changes that you have successfully created in your life.
